30th Birthday

So, its 8 days until my 30th birthday. I am not quite sure how I feel about it yet. I am not sad or freaking out, but I have this overwhelming feeling that my life is shifting into official adulthood. I do feel that I have accomplished some things. I was lucky enough to find my true love fairly early, and now we've been together for nine years total (married for seven). We have a beautiful baby girl who continues to surprise us on a daily basis. We were able to purchase our first house last year and have already finished some major construction on our own, and we are continually thinking of new improvements and projects to come. Lately, we've been researching fencing. I will be graduating with my master's degree in December of this year, this is probably the thing that is currently stressing me out the most. Recruiting for jobs begins in September, and I have decided to participate. I love my job at Kingsbury Hall, but I know that I can't stay there forever, as I have already reached my earning potential. I know that public accounting is where the money is and where a growing career is for me. I have been dreading rewriting my resume. I don't like having to sell myself. I also learned that the key to the accounting recruiting season is networking, something else that I dread doing. I am not a schmoozer. However, I am going to do my best and network and collect business cards and attend all the events I can in order to get a job. If I don't get a job, oh well, Kingsbury will still be here for me.

All in all, 30 won't be bad, at least I have ten more years until 40 to accomplish new things!

stickers

Mary Jane loves stickers! She puts them everywhere. Here are some pictures of her with a bunch of leftover Easter egg stickers that she found. She was being extra cute because she would put them on my arm or Greg's arm and when she would pull them off she would say, "Oh sorry Daddy," and give a kiss. I guess because it pulled the hair a little.

They last about 2 minutes, but they are worth it!

Puerto Vallarta dress

We bought this dress in Puerto Vallarta from some vendor on the beach when I was six months pregnant with MJ. She finally is big enough to wear it! Isn't she cute?

MJ loves riding her bike. She calls it "racing." She doesn't really need the helmet, but we figure that we will get her used to wearing one now and then it won't be so hard to get her to wear one later.

Biking to Work

I decided that I wanted to start riding my bike to work. First I ride to the train station, about 2 miles, then I board the commuter train to go down to the valley, then I will ride from the SLC station up to the University, another 4 miles. Of course, these are some big aspirations, the hill up is daunting. I only made it to 600 east from 600 west and had to get on Trax to go the rest of the way to work. Twelve blocks isn't too bad. Maybe I will do better tomorrow. Safety first, with my sweet purple helmet.
Waiting for Frontrunner, feeling super confident about my adventure, after only riding 2 miles to the station.
The Frontrunner tracks, and the platform where I should board the train with my bike.

On Frontrunner.
I would post more pics, but its hard to take pictures and ride at the same time. Its been awhile since I have even ridden a bike, I'm still remembering how to do it.
