Davis County Fair

Tonight we went to the fair. It was only $1 to park and admission was free, so why not. The evening started with a cool horse drawn carriage ride across the parking lot.

There were lots of vendors selling all sorts of crap, I bought a cool necklace and earrings set. Then of course the obligatory pose in the face hole picture.
It wouldn't be the fair without cotton candy!Next stop, the petting zoo! Here's the nubian goat.Pot-bellied pigs.

This is the bison, it was really cool to touch. The hair looks soft but is actually really wirey.

Greg likes the goats the best. He wanted to take one home and name it Satan.

This cow how crazy long and curly horns!

Greg brushing the white cow.

This was my favorite animal. It was so big. Its a Zebu, a type of bovine.

Bike Adventure

We bought a bike trailer today! We wanted to be able to go on family bike rides. Everyone had their helmets on and was ready to go. It was a pleasant evening ride.

This is MJ's "U Talkin' to Me?" face.

We stopped at an elementary school and played on the playground for awhile.

Mary Jane was having so much fun at the playground and didn't want to leave. So she through a tantrum and cried the whole way home. Good thing it was only a 5 minute ride. Then we got home and everyone was hot and grumpy. Greg was putting all the gear away, and while folding the trailer up it bounced up and hit him really hard in the eye.

We debated whether or not he needed stitches and decided that it was okay. It stopped bleeding fairly quickly and scars are just battle trophies, right?

30th Birthday

So, its 8 days until my 30th birthday. I am not quite sure how I feel about it yet. I am not sad or freaking out, but I have this overwhelming feeling that my life is shifting into official adulthood. I do feel that I have accomplished some things. I was lucky enough to find my true love fairly early, and now we've been together for nine years total (married for seven). We have a beautiful baby girl who continues to surprise us on a daily basis. We were able to purchase our first house last year and have already finished some major construction on our own, and we are continually thinking of new improvements and projects to come. Lately, we've been researching fencing. I will be graduating with my master's degree in December of this year, this is probably the thing that is currently stressing me out the most. Recruiting for jobs begins in September, and I have decided to participate. I love my job at Kingsbury Hall, but I know that I can't stay there forever, as I have already reached my earning potential. I know that public accounting is where the money is and where a growing career is for me. I have been dreading rewriting my resume. I don't like having to sell myself. I also learned that the key to the accounting recruiting season is networking, something else that I dread doing. I am not a schmoozer. However, I am going to do my best and network and collect business cards and attend all the events I can in order to get a job. If I don't get a job, oh well, Kingsbury will still be here for me.

All in all, 30 won't be bad, at least I have ten more years until 40 to accomplish new things!
